Miscreants hack BCL leader in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, July 10 (UNB): A local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was hacked by miscreants at Ariyamardan in Kachua upazila early Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Hazra Istiaque Hossain Bahadur, 32, convener of upazila BCL and son of Hazra Abul Basar of the upazila headquarters.

Officer-in-charge of Kachua Police Station Md Rabiul Kabir said Istiaque got down from a bus at Signboard Bazar in the early hours from Dhaka.

He then took a three-wheeler to reach home.

However, a group of unidentified miscreants intercepted the vehicle at Ariyamardan around 5am and chopped the BCL leader indiscriminately, leaving him injured.

He was first taken to Kachua Upazila Health Complex from where he was transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
