More FFs to get houses in Mujib Year: Mozammel

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said on Monday the government has taken plans to build more houses for freedom fighters (FFs) and hand over the houses to them in the Mujib Year to be celebrated in 2020, reports BSS.

"A total of 2,962 houses have already been allotted for them… 15,000 more houses will be built and allotted to the destitute freedom fighters in the second phase," he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while speaking at a discussion on 'The activities of Liberation War Ministry' at the ongoing DC conference at the cabinet division at the Secretariat.

The minister also said the houses will be given to the freedom fighters as gifts on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Besides, special grants will be given to those freedom fighters who are suffering from various deadly diseases and the government will instantly arrange treatment for them free of cost, the minister said in reply to a question of Madaripur Deputy Commissioner.

Mozammel said a museum will be set up at Kalurghat Radio Centre in Chattogram.
