"This is no time to do politics with this dengue issue…I urge all to destroy the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes carrying dengue virus by keeping people's houses neat and clean," he said.

He was speaking at a cleanliness campaign programme, organised by 14-party alliance, in front of Motijheel Ideal School of the city.

Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon presided over the programme while Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, former Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) general secretary Shirin Akter, among others, were present at the meeting.

Stressing the importance of a united effort, Nasim, also the spokesperson of the 14-party alliance, said, "We have to identify and eliminate the breeding grounds of mosquitoes and work towards that end."

Soon the country would be dengue free as the government under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to eradicate it with the help of common people, doctors and nurses, he added.
