Awami League presidium member and 14-party alliance spokesman Mohammed Nasim on Saturday called upon BNP to take preparations for participating in the next general election shunning issuance of threats of movement, reports BSS.

"You (BNP) take preparations for the next national election shunning giving threats of movement," he said while talking to newsmen after a 14-party alliance meeting at Priyanka Community Centre at Dhanmondi here.

Nasim, also health and family welfare minister, said BNP-Jamaat is hatching conspiracies ahead of the next general election.

He said BNP wants to make Bangladesh a safe haven for terrorists and militants by creating 'Hawa Bhaban' again.

"BNP made the country champion in corruption repeatedly in the past and they want to do so again," he added.

Earlier, a meeting of 14-party was held with Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua in the chair. Nasim conducted the meeting.

AL organising secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president Sharif Nurul Ambia, Jatiya Party (JP) secretary general Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Workers Party Politburo member Anisur Rahman Mallik, Bangladesh Tariqat Federation (BTF) chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari, AL organising secretary Ahmed Hossain, Gonotantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain and NAP General Secretary Ismail Hossain, among others, addressed the meeting.
