Neo-JMB man gets 21 yrs' jail in explosives case

SHERPUR, June 27 (UNB): A court here on Wednesday sentenced a Neo-JMB member to 21 years' imprisonment in an explosives case.

The convict is Abul Kashem alias Abu Mosab, 22. Senior District and Sessions Judge M A Noor of the Special Tribunal-1 pronounced the verdict amid tight security on the court premises.

Arun Kumar Singha Roy, acting public prosecutor for the tribunal, said under sections 4 and 5 of the law Kashem was sentenced to 14 and 7 years' jail respectively, which will run concurrently.

The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more rigorous imprisonment.
