Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s Dhaka University unit bringing out a procession in front of the Aparajeyo Bangla on the last day of electioneering for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Union elections, billed for March 11, on the campus on Saturday — Focus Bangla The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have prohibited live telecast from the polling booths and restricted any kinds of electronic devices including mobile phones inside the polling centers during Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu).
Journalists will be allowed to go to polling centre's guestroom upon permission from the returning officer, but will not be allowed to telecast any events live from inside the booths, according to the guideline issued by the university on Friday.
The electors will be allowed to cast vote after showing their identity card before 2:00 pm, it added.
Archways and metal detectors will be set up at every voting centre scheduled for March 11.
The decision was made at a meeting of the hall provosts chaired by university Vice-chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman, the release added.
Meanwhile, general people have been urged to use alternative routes till 10:00 pm as well as plying of all types of motor vehicles has been restricted on the campus on the voting day.
The instructions will not be applicable for the vehicles (with sticker) of the people related to the election process, it said.
All classes and examinations of the university will remain closed on the election day.
