Mohammad Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Monday no negligence was shown in the treatment of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in jail, report agencies.

Talking to the reporters at the Secretariat, the minister said, "As health minister, I think no negligence was shown in her treatment. Under the incumbent government it will not be acceptable if any political person does not get proper treatment in jail."

"She is taking medicine regularly following the prescription of doctors and she is fine now," he said. The government must follow the jail code while providing treatment to

her, Nasim said, adding," We can assure that there will be no negligence in the treatment of Begum Zia."

Begum Zia herself thanked for her better treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), he said.

The minister asked BNP leaders not to spread falsehood about the treatment of their Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

"Do not spread any falsehood regarding her treatment...She is a former prime minister, politician as well as woman and we are very much concerned about her treatment," he added.

State Minister of the ministry Zahid Maleque, Secretary M Serajul Huq

Khan (Health Services Division) and Director General of Health Services

Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad were present, among others.
