Nusrat murder case charge-sheet this month

The police will submit the charge-sheet against the 16 accused in the Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case within this month, reports BSS.

Nusrat, an Alim examinee and a student of Sonagazi Madrasa in Feni, died on April 10 as she was set on fire on April 6.

"All the accused have been arrested ….. Today we have recovered the second veil 'Borkha' which was used in the killing of Nusrat," Chief of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Banaj Kumar Majumder told the news agency.

Banaj, also Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, said 16 people have been found involved in the sensational murder.

Of the total, nine accused, including principal of the madrasa Sirajuddin, gave confessional statements under the section 164.

"We have found proof against those responsible for her murder. We will submit the charge-sheet to the court within this month," he said.

He said investigation into the case filed against former officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonagazi Model Police Station Moazzem Hossain under the ICT act will take some more time.

The case was filed against the former OC on charge of recording a video of Nusrat without her consent and spreading the footage on social media.

PBI has already appealed to the court for granting them the required time, he said.

The PBI team also seized the mobile phones of the OC and the sub-inspector of the police station, he added.
