PM hosts Iftar for judges, diplomats, high officials

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina hosted on Wednesday an Iftar in honour of the judges, diplomats and high civil and military and government officials at the green lawn of her official residence Ganobhaban, report agencies.

Arriving at the Iftar venue at 6:00pm, the PM went round tables set for the guests and enquired about their wellbeing.

Before the Iftar, a munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and its people.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Ihsanul Haque conducted the munajat also seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and martyrs of the August15 carnage in 1975, four national leaders and the martyrs of the War of Liberation.

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique, Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary, chiefs of the three services and Dean of Diplomatic Corps were present at the dais during the Iftar.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda,judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions, Chairman of Public Service Commission, Chairman of University Grants Commission, IGP Dr Javed Patwary, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of various foreign countries, including the USA, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia,India and Indonesia, also attended the Iftar party.

Besides, Bangabandhu's grandson Radwan Mujib Siddiq and high civil and military officials joined it.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had hosted a number of Iftar parties in honour of different sections of people in the month of Ramadan.
