Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader observed on Sunday that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's successful visit to India has irritated BNP, reports BSS.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina doesn't sign any agreements at the cost of country's interest . . .," he said.

BNP's remark centering her (PM) recent India visit is a part of BNP's bad politics," he said, speaking at a workshop of AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee members at the Engineers' Institution Bangladesh (IEB) in the city.

Rebutting BNP's criticism over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's current visit to India, Quader said BNP leaders are delivering imbalanced speech because they have remained out of state-power for long.

The AL general secretary said during the visit a fruitful discussion on Teesta issue was held and the premier would be successful in this connection, too.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does the politics for the country and its people . . . She never did anything at the cost of the country's interest," he added.

Criticising the remark of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, for terming the agreements signed during the PM's current visit to India as anti-constitution and anti-state, Quader blasted BNP leaders asking them not to throw brickbats in the dark and prove their charges, specifically.
