Pro-AL panel sweeps Jamalpur Bar polls

Jamalpur, Feb 28 (UNB) - Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad (BAAP), a forum of pro-Awami League lawyers, swept the election to the Jamalpur Bar Association (JBA), bagging all the 15 posts.

BAAP candidates Md Amanullah Akash and Md Abdus Salam were elected president and general secretary of the JBA respectively.

Advocate Nirmal Kanti Bhadra, chief election commissioner of Jamalpur Bar Association, announced the results on Tuesday night.

The half-day voting in the election concluded around 2pm starting from 9am after 298 lawyers cast their votes to elect its executive committee for 2018.
