Quader warns against charging passengers extra fare

Transport Minister Obiadul Quader on Saturday said transport companies charging homebound passengers extra fares will be punished, reports UNB.

When asked about the schedule collapse and allegations of charging additional fare, Quader said he had heard that some vehicles were running late.

"It's not right to make sweeping accusations. You have to point out the problem," he said while visiting a mobile court drive at Mohakhali inter-district bus terminal in the capital.

"We're taking action after getting complaints about additional fare. Some people involved in the practice have already been detained," he said.
