Remove campaign materials within 48 hrs: DSCC mayor

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon asked on Wednesday the authorities concerned of the corporation to remove within next 48 hours all posters, banners, and other campaign materials used during the 11th parliamentary election, report agencies.

He made the directive while inaugurating a campaign to remove the election materials in front of Suritola Government Primary School in the old part of the city.

The mayor also sought cooperation from all the candidates of the 11th national election in this regard.

Later he removed some roadside posters.

Several DSCC officials and ward councillors were present at the event.

fter Dec 30 election, several candidates were seen to remove campaign materials of their own accord.

But the DNCC officially launched the removal programme three days after the election.
