SC upholds HC bail to ex-MP Rana

TANGAIL, July 08 (UNB): The Supreme Court (SC) upheld on Monday the bail granted by the High Court (HC) to former Awami League (AL) MP from Tangail-3 Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in a case filed over killing of two Jubo League (JL) leaders.
A four-member Appellate Division (AD) bench, led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed the order rejecting a petition filed by the state seeking stay on the bail order.
Talking to reporters Rana's lawyer Monsurul Haq Chowdhury said now there is no bar to Rana's release from jail following the court order.
