Singer Shafin to run for DNCC mayor from JP

Main opposition Jatiya Party picked on Wednesday singer Shafin Ahmed to contest the by-election to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral post with its ticket, reports UNB.

JP nominated Shafin Ahmed to vie for the DNCC mayoral post in the by-polls, said a party press release.

JP secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga signed the party nomination paper of the singer nominating him as the party candidate.

The party also sent the final nomination paper and a letter to the Election Commission requesting it to give Shafin Jatiya Party election symbol 'Plough', said the press release.
