Six JMB men get different jail terms in Sherpur

SHERPUR, June 25 (UNB): A court here on Monday sentenced six members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to different terms of jail in a case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act.

Senior District and Sessions Court Judge MA Nur passed the order.

The convicts were identified as Nazmul Shahdat Rana, 28, son of Raza Mia, Moniruzzaman Manik alias Kawsar, 28, son of Fazlur Rahman, Maruf Hossain Roni, 31, son of Mansur Ali, Amir Hamza Khalil, 32, son of Atahar Ali, Tanvir Ali, 32, son of Abdul Hamid, Soyeb Uddin, 33, son of Moyej Uddin.

Nazmul Shahdat Rana and Moniruzzaman Manik were sentenced for 13 years each and also fined Tk 50,000 or one year jail in default.
