Stand beside flood victims: Dr Kamal

Ganoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain urged on Wednesday the country's people, including his party leaders and activists, to stand by the flood-hit people with relief materials in different parts of the country, reports UNB.

He made the call while speaking at an emergency meeting of the party at his Motijheel chamber.

Dr Kamal expressed deep shock at the loss of lives due to flood and conveyed sympathy to those who got affected with the natural disaster, said a party press release.

He condemned the government's 'indifference' and 'negligence' towards the flood victims.

Meanwhile, a Ganoforum relief team, led by its presidium member AMSA Amin, went to Rangpur on Wednesday to distribute relief materials among the flood-affected people.

Talking to the news agency, Ganoforum joint general secretary Major (retd) Amin Ahmed Afsari said the meeting also decided to hold a seminar in August marking the 44th death anniversary of Bangabandhu and Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
