Their movement only to save Khaleda: Shajahan

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said on Wednesday BNP is staging demonstration only for saving its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman, not for the wellbeing of the country's people, reports BSS.

He also said, "Khaleda Zia will be tried not only for corruption, but also for killing innocent people of the country."

The minister made the remarks while addressing a protest rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.

Bangladesh Mohila Awami League organised the rally protesting the attack on Bangladesh High Commission and desecration of the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in London.

"BNP shielded war criminals while Sheikh Hasina is developing the country by trying the killers of 1971 and 1975," he said.

Bangladesh Mohila Awami League President Safia Khatun and General Secretary Mahmuda Begum, among others, were present at the rally.
