Writ challenges trial of army men under martial law

A writ was filed with the High Court on Sunday challenging the legality of holding trial of army men under martial law and concealing bodies of the victims executed during the regime of Ziaur Rahman, reports BSS.

Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Matiur Rahman filed the writ with the department concerned of the High Court on behalf of 88 aggrieved families.

The writ also sought High Court directive to compensate the victim families.

The lawyer said the matter would be mentioned before the High Court division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader.
