69 children killed in first two months of this year: ASK

Some 69 children were killed in the first two months of the current year alone across the country, according to a local independent rights body.
The data of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) noted that out of the total, 18 children were below the age of 06 years while 15 were between 07 to 12 years.
Thirty-two cases were lodged in connection with the incidents, the data revealed.
Of the total victims, 19 children were tortured to death and 11 committed suicide, the ASK data found.
Apart from this, 05 children were killed after abduction and 05 were killed by torture in domestic sphere of the victims, it said.
Moreover, seven children were killed after being raped, two rape victims committed suicide, six missing children were killed and six bodies of missing children were recovered.
According to ASK data, some 521 children were killed in 2018 and 229 cases were filed regarding the incidents, the ASK data showed. Of the children, 118 were below the age of 06 years while 117 were between 07 to 12 years, the data revealed.
The human rights organisation often expressed concern over the increased violence on the children and urged the government to bring the perpetrators to book.
