BARI organises training course for young NARS scientists

Agronomy Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has organised a five-day training course on "Agronomic Research and Technology Development of Major Crops" for the young scientists of National Agricultural Research System (NARS), said a statement.
The main objective of the training course is to improve the young scientists' knowledge and skill on agronomic research and technology development.
Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Director General of BARI, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the course on Wednesday.
Md Shoeb Hassan, Director (Support & Service) of BARI, and Dr Mian Sayeed Hassan, Director (PIU-BARC, NATP-2), attended the ceremony as special guests. Dr Md Abdul Wohab presided over the inaugural session.
The training course was coordinated by Dr Rina Rani Saha, Chief Scientific Officer, Agronomy Division, BARI.
The training will help execute the new agricultural policy and SDG. Increasing cropping intensity, improving crop productivity, safe food production, efficient use of natural agricultural resources, technology development for unfavourable ecosystem like waterlogging, salinity, drought, high temperature, carbon sequestration, adaptation and mitigation technique of climate change.
