Blenders remain very active

Initially market opened on last levels but with the progress of sale, particularly in the second half, demand was greater in auction market in the port city held on Tuesday.
As a result, prices moved up further. Blenders were again very active but there was only limited interest from the Loose tea buyers, according to a Bangladesh Tea Board press statement.
Dusts sold well.
CTC LEAF: As many as 28,147 packages of Current Season and 190 packages of Old Season Teas were on offer. There was a strong market with prices moving further.
BROKENS: All BOPs were a strong feature and were dearer by Tk 5.0 and more following competition. Smaller Brokens met with a similar trend.
Plain types were generally firm. Poor variety however, saw a few withdrawals.
FANNINGS: Best Fannings were fully firm to slightly dearer often exceeding Tk 260. Good and Mediums were dearer by Tk 5.0/- and more following competition.
Other types were mostly dearer but the plainest saw a few withdrawals.
CTC DUST: As many as 7,120 packages of Current Season and 61 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with quite a strong demand.
Good liquoring varieties were firm to slightly dearer market. Others also sold well at around last levels.
Blenders lent strong support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
