Dhaka Lit Fest kicks off today

All preparations have been completed for the Dhaka Literary Festival (Dhaka Lit Fest) to begin on the Bangla Academy premises in the city today (Thursday).
The 8th version of the festival will give special focus on projecting the country and its literature before the globe.
The extravaganza of art and culture which will be a rendezvous for literature-lovers from across the globe and various corners of Bangladesh will continue till November 10.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the event as the chief guest. Bangla Academy is hosting the event in cooperation with the Cultural Affairs Ministry. More than 200 poets, litterateurs, artists and publishers from 15 countries will participate in the event featuring 90 sessions on literature, art, photography, film screening and so on.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Adam Johnson, Bengali literary icon Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Commonwealth Writers' Prize winner Mohammed Hanif, award-winning actor Manisha Koirala, Oscar-winning actor Tilda Swinton and award-winning actor and director Nandita Das will take part in the three-day festival.
