Thursday, 16 May 2019

The High Court (HC) asked on Wednesday Green Line Paribahan to pay within May 22 either the rest of Tk 4.5 million (45 lakh) or at least a partial amount as compensation to Russel Sarkar, who lost his leg in an accident in the city's Dholaipar on April 28 last year involving a bus of the company, reports UNB.
A bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order after hearing a time petition filed by the bus company.
Advocate Khandaker Shamsul Haque Reza and Advocate Ummey Kulsum Smrity stood for the writ petitioner while Advocate Ojiullah represented the Green Line.
Earlier on April 10, Green Line paid Tk 500,000 to Russel and the court gave them one month to pay the rest Tk 4.5 million.
On March 12, HC asked the bus company to pay Tk 5.0 million as compensation to Russel Sarkar within two weeks.
