GSSCP holds workshop on SCM in city

A day-long workshop, titled 'The Future of Supply Chain Management', was held a hotel in the capital recently, says a statement. Organised by Global Society and Supply Chain Professional (GSSCP), the workshop aimed at equipping the supply-chain professionals of local and multinational companies with latest tools, techniques, the best practices and know-how to be deployed to meet the emerging challenges of this sector.
The speakers at the programme observed that in recent time, Supply-Chain management is gaining importance in Bangladesh's corporate world. The entrepreneurs as well as mid and high-level management are deploying Supply-Chain management to develop strategy, plan and forecasting for marketing, analysing risks, timely procurement and delivery of the goods and ensuring customer services.
The participants dwelt on several more important topics including, project management, big data analysis, forecasting error and inventory optimisation and internet of things (IOT) along with the emerging issues, both local and global ones.
The workshop was facilitated by Mudassir Hossain AGM, Palmal Group, Mohammed Shafiqul Islam Project Manager, Akij Group, Md Sirajus Salehin Assistant Manager, Jadoo Digital, and SM Tanzil Aslam, trainer and supply chain practitioner.
