Bangladesh becomes bureau member of ICC
Bangladesh has been elected member of bureau of International Criminal Court (ICC) for the next two years (2019-20) in the 17th session of the Assembly of State Parties to the Rome Statute, at The Hague, Netherlands. Bangladesh, South Korea and Japan have been elected for 2019 while Bangladesh, South Korea and Palestine for 2020 as members of the Asia-Pacific region. — BSS

Two farmers shot dead in Narail
Two farmers were shot to death over a power clash in Narail's Kalia Upazila. The incident took place at the upazila's Kalabaria union neighbourhood on Thursday. The dead have been identified as Iman Ali, 35, and Ruku Molla, 32, residents of Kanduri village in Kalabaria.— bdnews24.com

DNCC removes illegal structures at Agargaon
A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted an eviction drive in Agargaon and Taltola areas in the city on Thursday to remove illegal establishments. The mobile court, led by DNCC executive magistrate Md Sajid Anwar, conducted the drive in the areas from 10.00am to 2:30pm. — UNB

‘Underground lines to better power supply’
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Thursday said underground lines would ensure uninterrupted power supply and reduce system loss. He was speaking at a ceremony marking a deal on feasibility study for replacement for existing overhead lines with underground distribution network in the DPDC area of Dhaka. — BSS
