Moon sighting body meets tomorrow
A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held tomorrow (Friday) to review the news of moon sighting of the holy month of Shawal and fix the date for Eid-ul Fitr of 1,439 Hijri. The meeting will be held at the meeting room of Islamic Foundation (IF) at Baitul Mukarram

Election schedules for Rajshahi, Sylhet, Barishal cities
The Election Commission officially announced on Wednesday the election schedules for three city corporations--Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barishal. The voting will be held on July 30. The deadline for submission of nomination papers is June 28. The dates for scrutinising those are July 01 and July 02. The last date for withdrawal of candidatureis July 09. — UNB

Dhaka-Aricha CCTV pilot project gets going
SAVAR, June 13: A CCTV pilot project was inaugurated on the Dhaka-Aricha highway on Wednesday, aiming to prevent robbery, snatching and other criminal activities. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary inaugurated the project on the compound of Savar Model Police Station. He said crimes on the highways would now come down. — UNB
