No mercy for violence over verdict, warns Quader

Wednesday, 10 October 2018

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday no mercy will be shown if BNP wants to carry out violence centering the August 21 grenade attack case verdict, reports BSS.
"If BNP wants to carry out violent or sabotage acts centering the August 21 grenade attack, no mercy will be shown," he told newsmen after inaugurating a private bus service at Manik Miah Avenue in the city.
The minister said law enforcement agencies remained alert to avert any untoward incidents.
Quader said they have information that BNP was planning to carry out large scale violence and sabotage centering the verdict. "If BNP tries to unleash violence like they did in 2014, the people will resist them," he added.
The AL general secretary said BNP is responsible for the August 21 grenade attack in 2014.
It was known to everyone that BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman was the mastermind of the attack, he added.
Quader, however, said they did not want to make any comments before the verdict. He also demanded ensuring justice through the verdict.
