PANCHAGARH, Nov 08 (BSS): Farmers of Panchagarh district are expecting bumper production of Aman due to favourable climate condition throughout the season.
Sources said agro-inputs such as chemical fertiliser and pesticides were easily available and affordable to the farmers.
The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said, this year Aman paddy is cultivated in the district in 81,000 hectares of land and production target is 3,32,000 tonnes at an average production target of 4.50 tonnes in per hectare of land.
Bipul Chandra, a farmer of Shahapara village under Debiganj upazila said he cultivated Aman in one acre of land where the plants are growing excellently so he is expecting a total production of more than 50 mounds of the crop.
The DAE has supplied all necessary seeds, fertilisers and other agriculture inputs at a fair prize among the farmers to achieve the production target. The farmers said they would start harvesting of Aman paddy within a few days.
