President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condemned on Friday the Christchurch twin mosque attacks that left 49 dead.
According to BSS, in a message the President reiterated Bangladesh's steadfast commitment against terrorism.
President Hamid said, "We are deeply shocked to learn about the shooting incidents at two mosques in Christchurch of New Zealand. We strongly condemn this heinous act of terrorism."
The head of the state expressed his heartfelt condolence at the loss of lives and prayed for early recovery of the injured ones, the message added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message to her New Zealand counterpart Jacinda Ardern, expressed her deep shock and condemned the shootings, reports bdnews24.com quoting the Prime Minister's press wing.
New Zealand's Police Commissioner Mike Bush told reporters, describing the attack as a "very well-planned event".
The man charged with murder is in his late 20s and should appear in Christchurch court today (Saturday), Bush added.
