Printing tech show begins in city

A three-day international trade show titled 'PRINTECH Bangladesh 2019' begun in the city on Thursday.
The technology show, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, is being held at the city's International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and will continue till October 12.
ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Printing Industries Association of Bangladesh (PIAB) jointly organised the event.
The show covers printing, packaging, latest technology in pre-press, in-press, post-press, textile and garment printing, finishing, converting, signage, digital, non-woven, corrugation, paper, flexible packaging, software and consumables from international companies.
Deputy speaker of the parliament Fazle Rabbi Miah MP inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
In the showcasing, there are pavilions of nearly 60 companies from Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers' Association (IPAMA) and Screen Printers Association of India (SPAI), supported by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while exhibitors from China and Bangladesh also taking part in the show.
Now about 7,000 printing units are operating throughout the country.
The trade show remains open from 11 am to 7 pm every day. The entry is open for all with no fee.
