Sugar production in RSML begins today

GAIBANDHA, Dec 06 (BSS): Sugar production in Rangpur Sugar Mills Limited (RSML) located at Mohimaganj area under Gobindaganj upazila in the district will start tomorrow (Friday).
Office sources said sugarcane was farmed on 5,780 acres of land in the own farm of the RSML and its eight sub zone areas in 2017-2018 season.
The RSML set a target to produce 5,600 tonnes of sugar by crushing 80,000 tonnes of sugarcane during the current crushing season and the rate of sugar extraction has been estimated at 7.0 per cent, sources said.
Senior sugarcane grower Zinnat Ali Prodhan and old-aged employee of the mill freedom fighter Golam Rahman are likely to inaugurate the sugarcane crushing for the 2018-2019 crushing season.
Talking to the news agency, managing director of the RSML Anwar Hossain Akand said all preparations had been completed to start the sugar production of the mill on Friday.
He sought whole hearted cooperation of the officials and the employees including the growers to work dedicatedly and sincerely to attain the target of the sugar production fixed by the mills authority.
