Navy now more capable of facing challenges: President

Outgoing Navy chief meets him

President Abdul Hamid said on Monday the country's naval force is now more capable to face any challenge in the defence sector, reports UNB.

The President said this when outgoing Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed met him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.

President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

The Navy chief expressed his sincere gratitude to the President for giving necessary directives and extending cooperation to him during his tenure.

He apprised the President of the overall development activities of Bangladesh Navy.

Abdul Hamid, also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, expressed his satisfaction over the activities and performance of the naval force.

He also lauded Nizamuddin for his positive role in turning the naval force into a modern and three-dimensional force during his tenure as the navy chief.

The President expressed the hope that the ongoing development and progress of the naval force will continue in the days to come.

Secretaries concerned to the President were also present there.
