Investors more active on Beximco sans PSI

Beximco topped the scrip-wise turnover chart on Sunday following investors' increased participation.

On the day, the company featured a turnover worth Tk 393 million and grabbed 9.5 per cent of the total market turnover. Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) featured a turnover of above Tk 4.12 million.

Beximco recently displayed a continuous upward trend in share price despite there was no undisclosed price sensitive information (PSI). On March 22 last, the company's share trading closed at Tk 22.10 each and after nine sessions, the price rose to Tk 31 each on April 11.

Meanwhile, in response to a DSE query dated April 05, 2018, the company had informed that there was no undisclosed price sensitive information of the company for recent unusual price hike of its shares.

On Sunday, above 13.13 million shares of Beximco were exchanged through 5360 trades at the prices ranging between Tk 28.60 and Tk 31 each.

On the day, the company's share trading closed at Tk 29 with a loss of 6.21 per cent or Tk 1.9 per share.

Of other top 10 turnover leaders, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh featured a turnover of Tk 256 million and captured 6.2 per cent of the market turnover. Northern Jute Manufacturing Company captured 3.1 per cent of market turnover with a value of Tk 125 million.

The turnover of Padma Islami Life Insurance stood at Tk 98 million which was 2.4 per cent of the market turnover.
