DBA meets ICB officials

The newly-elected members of DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) met the top officials of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) recently. Managing Director of ICB Kazi Sanaul Hoq, Deputy Managing Director Md. Mosaddake-Ul-Alam, General Managers, CEO of the subsidiaries were present at the meeting held at ICB Board Room. — Statement

BRAC Bank, Al Haramain Hospital, Sylhet ink deal

BRAC Bank and Al Haramain Hospital, Sylhet signed a corporate agreement. Under the agreement, Al Haramain Hospital will provide exclusive healthcare services to the valued customers and employee of BRAC Bank. From Al Haramain Hospital, Managing Director Dr. Mohammad Ehsanur Rahman, Director (Medical Services) Dr. M. Faiz Ahmed, Assistant Director Dr. Nahian Ahmed Chowdhury, Manager (Marketing) Reazul Mahmud, and from BRAC Bank, Head of Large Corporate, Unit 1 Sajid Rahman, Cluster & Sylhet Branch Manager Anup Kanti Das and Zindabazar Branch Manager Shafayet Hussain Ahmed were present at the agreement signing ceremony at the hospital recently.— Statement

Seminar on sustainable concrete solution

Bituminous pavement is not working in Bangladesh and the maintenance cost of these roads are too high. Now Bangladesh should look for concrete solutions for its roads because of its sustainability and lower maintenance cost, though the initial cost is much higher. In the long run concrete solutions for the road will benefit the country in many ways. Dr. Md. Shamsul Hoque, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, BUET mentioned at a seminar titled 'Sustainable Concrete Solutions' organized by Holcim Cement Bangladesh. Gérald Michel, Manager, Growth & Performance, from LafargeHolcim R&D at Lyon in France made a presentation on the topic 'High performance Concrete' at the seminar. More than 150 engineers from different govt. & non-govt. organizations attended the seminar held at Hotel Le Meridian Dhaka recently. Rajesh Surana, Chief Executive Officer of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh limited (LHBL) in his welcome speech mentioned how LHBL is working for innovation of new solutions. — Statement
