IBBL inaugurates agent banking outlet at Jhitka

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Chairman Arastoo Khan inaugurated an agent banking outlet of the bank at Jhitka Bazar of Harirampur upazila in Manikganj on Thursday. Md. Shamsuzzaman, Deputy Managing Director of the bank, was present in the programme as special guest. Presided over by Md Aminur Rahman, Senior Vice-President and Head of Dhaka North Zone of the bank, the programme was addressed by Shaikh Saidul Hasan, Senior Assistant Vice-President, Md Abdul Hamid Mithu, agent and proprietor of Drishti Enterprise, and Md Abdul Matin Sarker, Manager of Shibalay branch of the bank.

Jamuna Bank organises NRB customers’ get-together

Jamuna Bank Limited organised a get-together of NRB customers and CSR seminar at a hotel in Dubai recently. Md Ismail Hossain Siraji, Chairman of the bank, inaugurated the event as the chief guest. Nur Mohammed, Chairman, Jamuna Bank Foundation and Director, Jamuna Bank, and Md Mahmudul Hoque, Director, Jamuna Bank, were present as special guests at the programme. Shafiqul Alam, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, presided over the programme. Representatives of different exchange houses were present at the programme where Non-Resident Bangladeshis came to know about different NRB products of the bank.

EBL holds workshop on ECA-covered financing

Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) organised a workshop on "Export Credit Agency (ECA)-covered Financing" in association with Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale, a German bank, in the city recently. Thomas Kuerten, Director and Regional Manager, South Asia, Helaba; Christoph Winnat, Chief Representative of Helaba Singapore Office; Ahmed Shaheen, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking; Corporate Unit Heads; Head of Financial Institutions and Overseas Banking Units (OBU) and other senior executives of the EBL attended the workshop. The workshop focused on overview, instruments and procedures of ECA-covered financing and its best practices in European financial markets. Recent practices of ECA-covered financing in Bangladesh was also discussed at the session. EBL, as a pioneer in operating OBU businesses, brings in the ECA-covered financing, a low-cost funding facility in Bangladesh.
