Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities re-elects chairman, vice-chairmen

Anwer Hossain Khan was re-elected Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Ltd. (SJIBSL) in 48th meeting of the board of directors recently. Md. Sanaullah Shahid and Md. Abdul Barek were re-elected vice-chairmen in the same meeting, according to a press release.

Anwer Hossain Khan was born at Purbobigha, Ramganj in Laxmipur District. After completion of his graduation and post-graduation from the University of Dhaka he started business. His long business experience spans two decades and he emerged as a prominent figure in the area of medical and health care services.

Mr Khan is the Chairman and Managing Director of Modern Group of Companies, Modern Diagnostic Centre Ltd., Anwer Khan Modern Medical College, Anwer Khan Modern Hospital Ltd., Hazi Sakawat Anwara Eye Hospital Ltd., Modern Diabetic Center Ltd., Anwer Khan Modern Nursing College, Dhaka Modern Environmental Technologies.

He is the Chairman of Executive Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd., sponsor shareholder of Fareast Finance and Fareast Stocks & Bonds Ltd. and Vice-Chairman of Takaful Islami Insurance Limited. He is the Chairman of Anwer Khan Modern University.

On the other hand Md. Sanaullah Shahid was born in 1963 in Dhaka City. Mr. Shahid engaged himself in electronics business after obtaining his Hon's and Masters degrees in Commerce.

He is the sponsor shareholder of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. Mr. Shahid is the Chairman of Electra International Ltd. that is the sole distributor of Samsung brand electronics goods.

Md. Abdul Barek was born in 1960 in a Muslim family. He started business after completion of his education.

Md. Abdul Barek is a sponsor shareholder of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. and Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Limited. He is the proprietor of Arju Electronics, Jony Electronics and Rony Electronics. Md. Abdul Barek has long experience spanning more than two decades.
