Top 10-traded stocks capture 33.8pc turnover

Top ten traded stocks captured around 33.8 per cent of the total turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday.

On the day, the premier bourse DSE featured a turnover of above Tk 5.15 billion.

Like the previous session, Beximco topped the turnover chart with a value of Tk 435 million which was 8.5 per cent of the market turnover.

The company's share trading closed at Tk 30.80 each with a rise of 7.24 per cent. Above 14.73 million shares changed hands through 5,611 trades.

Popular Life Islami Insurance Company featured a turnover of Tk 318 million and grabbed 6.2 per cent of the total turnover.

The company's share trading closed at Tk 132.40 with a rise of 9.97 per cent per share.

Al-Arafa Islami Bank captured 3.1 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a turnover worth Tk 161 million. The company's share price rose 0.84 per cent to close at Tk 24.20 per share.

Brac Bank featured a turnover of Tk 148 million and captured 2.9 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share price declined 2.34 per cent to close at Tk 83.80 per share.

The turnover of Advent Pharma stood at Tk 137 million, which was 2.7 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share price declined 7.87 per cent to close at Tk 41.70 per share.

Mercantile Bank grabbed 2.5 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a turnover worth Tk 129 million.

The company's share trading closed at Tk 19.90 with a loss of 13.85 per cent per share.

Of other companies, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh featured a turnover of Tk 121 million, National Tea Company Tk 114 million, Sonali Aansh Industries Tk 92 million and Usmania Glass Sheet Factory Tk 87 million.
