176 containers come under hammer at Ctg Port today

CHITTAGONG, Jan 21: The Chittagong Port is auctioning off a total of 176 TEUs of empty containers occupying a large area of port premises for over a year.

In this regard the Chittagong Port Authority published a public notice for auction on December 27 last in compliance with the order of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

The Director (Traffic) of the CPA in its public notice said 176 TEUs (twenty feet equivalent units) equivalent to 88 40-feet Reefer containers belonging to Hanjin Shipping Bangladesh Ltd lying on the port premises will be on sale at an auction at 12.00 pm on January 22 on the basis of quotations submitted by the intending traders or firms at the office of the Director (Traffic) CPA, Bandar Bhaban, in the port city.

The deadline for submitting tenders is 11.30 am, January 22, the notice published in the local and national dailies said.
