Aptech International and ADN Eduservices are working to create skilled manpower in Bangladesh's Information Technology (IT) sector, said Managing Director of ADN Eduservices Tapan Kanti Sarkar.

He was addressing a press conference, jointly organised by ADN Eduservices Limited and Aptech Bangladesh at the BASIS Auditorium in the capital recently, says a statement.

Currently, technology application has become indispensable in every sector of Digital Bangladesh, observed the ADN Eduservices Managing Director.

"Today technology application is must for business development as well as for skill enhancement," said Sarkar.

He said Bangladesh is a country of huge potentials.

The number of total workforce in Bangladesh is now 19.1 million, he said, quoting the recently-published Manpower Survey Report for fiscal year 2016-17 of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

He said Bangladesh will be able to become a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.

"The major reason behind the limited success of our IT industry is the intense scarcity of skilled manpower. We have plenty of programmers. But, there is hardly anyone to get into the depth," he observed.

"Skilled System Analysts or Project Managers are insufficient to fulfill our demands. Due to the lack of skills, we can't accomplish many tasks properly," he noted.

As a result, foreign companies are entering Bangladesh's local market along with their software and services," he cautioned.

"With the slogan 'Get skilled, life will change', worldwide prominent IT training company Aptech and ADN Eduservices are working to create skilled manpower in the IT sector of Bangladesh," he said.

Aptech International Senior Manager Baksi said Aptech International has been working to create skilled manpower in 40 countries for the last 31 years.

He said training methodology of Aptech is highly appreciated across the globe.

"Aiming to create skilled manpower in software, hardware and networking, multimedia and English learning, we have initiated our activities in Bangladesh utilising Aptech's such experience," he mentioned.

Getting admitted in different courses offered by Aptech, youths will be able to enhance their skills and prove the same in global markets besides in the local ones, he hoped.

"We are continuously working as per Franchise model to spread the Aptech activities across the country," he said.

"All the training institutes interested in our activities can contribute in creating skilled manpower getting merged with us," he added.
