BPO’s one-minute digital account service kicks off

Information and Communication Technology Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed Joy on Tuesday launched 'Nagad account in one minute' service of Bangladesh Post Office, reports BSS.

The one-minute digital savings account service of Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) will connect 'Porichoy' app with BPO's digital financial service Nagad.

Joy inaugurated the service at a ceremony at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications at Secretariat in the city.

The service has been opened in order to make financial service quicker and safer for the people across the country through connecting Nagad, a mobile financial service provided by the BPO, with another new mobile apps 'Porichoy' for getting the account service in a minute.

For opening any mobile account, earlier it took minimum five days for verifying the National Identity Card (NID) of a particular individual.

"But now it will take just one minute for verifying any NID to identify any particular person for installing the service," according to the officials.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas and Managing Director of the Nagad service Tanvir Mishuk were present at the programme, among others.
