CHATTOGRAM, June 20: The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) on Wednesday decided to construct a bus terminal at Kulgaon in the city and residential buildings for its conservancy workers.

The residential buildings for conservancy workers will be known as 'Sebok colony'.

These two projects and another project of the CCC are awaiting approval of the ministry concerned.

The third project involves development of the city's kitchen markets run by the CCC.

The cost of the Kulgaon Bus Terminal project has been estimated at Tk 12.30 billion and the Sebok colony at Tk 2.33 billion.

The decision was taken at a general meeting of the Chittagong City Corporation, with Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin in the chair.

Ward councillors, women councillors and senior officials were present in the meeting held at the KB Abdus Sattar auditorium.

At the meeting, the mayor said the bus terminal project has been undertaken to ease severe traffic congestion.

Due to traffic snarls, people travelling from the northern region have been suffering a lot, he said.
