Youths urged at BIDA's promotional programme launching in Rajshahi

Speakers at a programme in Rajshahi urged the youths to come forward towards becoming entrepreneurs.

The call was made at the launching ceremony of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA)'s week-long divisional level promotional campaign aimed at attracting local and foreign investment side by side flourishing the investment process, reports BSS.

As part of the programme, Rajshahi divisional office of BIDA set up ten booths at different parts of the north-western city to bring the potential youths under registration for making them entrepreneurs through proper training.

Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman inaugurated a booth at Shaheed A H M Kamaruzzaman Central Zoo and Park premises before a large number of youths on Sunday.

Additional Commissioner Zakir Hossain, BIDA Divisional Director Benjamin Riazi and Deputy Director of Local Government Division Muhammad Salahuddin were also present at the inaugural function.

Addressing the programme, Rahman said the government has taken massive measures for promoting entrepreneurship. He urged the youths to come forward to become entrepreneurs taking the opportunity.

An initiative has been taken to create 24,000 new and skilled entrepreneurs within two years in line with one of the Prime Minister's 10 initiatives - 'Investment Development', he mentioned.

Other speakers also called for taking the opportunity offered by the government to become entrepreneurs.

BIDA will provide training to the interested youths to create entrepreneurs for accelerating economic progress in the country, they said.
