Consul urges local businesses to invest in Kyrgyzstan

Bangladesh entrepreneurs can invest in Kyrgyzstan directly or under Kyrgyz-Bangladesh joint venture (JV) as loan facilities are available for JV there.
Besides, workers from Bangladesh can be employed through such JV initiatives.
Honorary Consul of Bangladesh in Kyrgyzstan Temirbek Erkinov said this during his meeting with leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at the Chamber in Dhaka on Monday.
FBCCI President Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), its Senior Vice President Sheikh Fazle Fahim and Vice President Md Muntakim Ashraf were also present in the meeting, said a press release.
The FBCCI president briefed the consul about the role of private sector in development of Bangladesh.
Responding to a proposal of Erkinov, the FBCCI president agreed to establish effective communication with the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Both the sides agreed to take initiative for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the national chambers of two countries.
According to the FBCCI release, Bangladesh's exports to Kyrgyzstan stood at US $ 0.04 million in fiscal year 2016-2017 while its imports from Kyrgyzstan totaled US $ 0.09 million in FY 2015-16.
The principal exportable products of Bangladesh to Kyrgyz Republic are woven garment, knitwear and home textiles, it said, adding the country's import from Kyrgyzstan included textiles and textile articles, and glass and glassware.
