Development Fair begins today

The three-day 4th 'National Development Fair' begins at the venue of International Trade Fair in the city today (Thursday), aiming to show the government's multiple development initiatives and successes, reports UNB.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fair through videoconferencing from her official residence Gano Bhaban, said Deputy Commissioner Abu Saleh Mohammad Ferdous Khan while talking to reporters at the venue in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Separate fairs will also be held in all district and upazila headquarters throughout the country simultaneously.

The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 9:00pm every day.

The fair is being orgasined to showcase development activities taken up by the present government, said the deputy commissioner.

The fair will showcase 10 special initiatives taken by the Prime Minister, international recognitions and successes, the Visions 2021 and 2041, Bangabandhu Satellite, mega projects, including Padma Bridge and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, as well as investment prospects.

Three seminars will be held in the fair.

On the first day, a seminar titled 'Bangabandhu's Development Philosophy and Today's Bangladesh' will be held at 5:00pm while another titled 'Ten Special Initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sustainable Development Goal' will be held on the second day and a seminar on 'Educated Nation and Wealthy Country: Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh' will be held on the third day.
