DNCRP fines 72 businesses

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) fined 72 businesses Tk 0.72 million on multiple allegations across the country on Monday.

Of them, 11 businesses were fined Tk 0.35 million in the capital's Gulshan and Lalbagh areas, said a DNCRP statement.

The fines for Herfi Restaurant, Rosh, Onila Sweets and Misti Ghar, ranged between Tk 15,000 and Tk 50,000.

The sweetmeat shops were selling products without showing maximum retail price (MRP) on packaging.

Rubel Enterprise, Niti Food Trading and Ms Uzzal Store were fined Tk 50,000 each for manufacturing fake products.

A retailer was fined Tk 1,000 in the city's Gendaria neighbourhood for not showing the price list.

A total of 61 businesses in 19 districts, including Barishal, Jhalakathi, Rajshahi, Pabna, Faridpur and Khulna, were fined Tk 0.37 million.
