Expo on medical equipment begins May 02

The 12th edition of the Meditex Bangladesh Expo, an international exhibition on medical equipment, healthcare, hospital equipment and supplies, will begin in the city on May 02.

The CEMS Bangladesh in association with the CEMS Global USA is organising the three-day event at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

Two more exhibitions-the 4th International Health Tourism Expo and the 5th Bangladesh Clinical Lab Expo 2019 -- will be held simultaneously at the same venue.

The organisers announced the schedule of the exhibitions at a press conference in the city on Wednesday. Meherun N Islam, President and Group Managing Director, CEMS Global USA and Asia Pacific, gave details about the exhibitions.

The exhibition will feature new medical devices and equipment, surgical instruments, dental equipment, diagnostic equipment and hospital equipment and supplies.

The participating companies from Bangladesh, India, Thailand, China, the USA, France, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Taiwan, Turkey and Korea will showcase latest technological innovations in the expo.

Many hospitals and healthcare providers from India, Malaysia, Sweden, Singapore and Thailand will also exhibit their services and latest developments in healthcare.

Seminars on fertility, thyroid disease and other contemporary and interesting health issues will also be held every day.

Bangladesh is showing remarkable performance in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and looking forward to do the same in regards to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, said Meherun N Islam. Besides, such exposition will help the country's healthcare be more competitive for the service providers, which will inspire them to offer quality service, she said.

Online service providers and software platforms are also going to take part in this expo, she added.

SS Sarwar, Group CEO, CEMS Global, Azad Khan, CEO, Chennai Fertility Centre, Bangladesh, Tanveer Qamrul Islam, Executive Director, CEMS Bangladesh, and Noyem Sharif, Head of Marketing and Communications, CEMS Bangladesh, attended the press conference.

The exhibitions will remain open from 10:30am to 8:30pm daily.
