Indian pharma cos see optimistic attitude of ties with Chinese mkt

NEW DELHI, May 9 (Xinhua): Organised by Drug Export Promotion Council of India, the 6th Medifest India was opened in New Delhi, capital of India. Many pharmaceutical companies in India participating in the Expo welcomed China's tariff cuts for some medicine imports.

From May 1, China has scrapped import tariffs on 28 kinds of drugs including anti-cancer medicines. Industrial insiders with enterprises on drugs and pharmaceutical exports in India believed that it would benefit their business in Chinese market.

Dineshi Dewar, CEO of India's Necktal Life Sciences Co., Ltd. said that China is the second-largest medical consuming market after the United States. The reduction of drug import tariffs will allow many Indian pharmaceutical companies to obtain beneficial. "It is a good sign for Indian pharmaceutical companies, which are expected to expand the Chinese market in the next few years", said Dineshi Dewar.
