RMCCI leaders for industrialisation to accelerate development

RANGPUR, Jan 21 (BSS): Leaders of Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RMCCI) have laid emphasis on enhancing industrialisation in the private sector to accelerate economic development in the region.

They came up with the opinion at the daylong annual general meeting (AGM) -2017 of the RMCCI in the northern divisional city.

RMCCI President Rezaul Islam Milan presided over the meeting participated by its directors, general members and local journalists.

In the beginning, the RMCCI President presented annual report on RMCCI activities, statements of accounts and the proposed budget for the 2018-2019 financial year which were adopted unanimously after discussion.

Senior Vice-president of RMCCI Golam Zakaria Pintu, its Vice-president Shamsur Rahman Kowel, directors HM Rashedunnabi Jewell, Md Aslam, Ali Ahmed, Sabbir Ahmed, Atik Ullah, Nurul Islam Potu, Aiyub Ali, Amit Banik, Alhaj Abdur Razzaque, Syed Shah Newaz Ali Tito also addressed, among others.

The speakers put importance on creating more young entrepreneurs to promote private sector enterprises, trade, commerce and investment for industrialisation to create more jobs for unemployed youths to further speed up economic growth in the region.

Golam Zakaria Pintu stressed on bringing more dynamism in accelerating RMCCI activities, setting up more industries in private sectors, flourishing trade and business to accelerate economic advancement of Rangpur region.

The RMCCI president said the organisation will continue to extend full cooperation to the businesspersons for preserving their business and trade related interests and resolving problems for smoothly running businesses.

He said, "The RMCCI would continue its efforts along with the government initiatives to establish a special economic zone in Rangpur for industrialisation to expand business, trade and commerce for accelerating development in Rangpur region."
