RMG industry facing tough times

BGMEA chief tells Iftar party in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 02: The country's readymade garment industry is now going through tough times, the BGMEA president said.

"So, industry people seek cooperation of all in fighting all challenges ahead," he added.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Siddiqur Rahman made the observations while speaking at an Iftar party and a doa mahfil organised at Hotel Radisson in the city on Friday night.

BGMEA first vice president Moinuddin Ahmed (Mintu) welcomed distinguished guests and businesspeople at the function.

It was attended by Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, GOC of Cantonment Major General Jahangir Kabir Talukder, Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Commodore Zulfiquer Aziz, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Illyas Hossain, Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Iqbal Bahar and Commander of DGFI in Chattogram Brigadier General Adil Chowdhury.

Additional DIG of Tourist Police Muslim Uddin, Abdul Hai Khan, PDB Chief Engineer Prabir Kumar Sen, Joint Commissioner of Customs Bond Kazi Farid Uddin, Director (traffic) CPA Golam Sarwar, SP of CID Md Nazmul Karim Khan, Director of Industrial Police Reaz Uddin Ahmed and councillors of Chittagong City Corporation also attended the function.

BGMEA leaders Md Ferdous, Kazi Mahbub Uddin Jewel, AM Mahbub Chowdhury, Syed Md Tanvir, Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Atikul Karim Khan, Enamul Haque Khan and former first vice presidents Md Shahjahan, Shahabuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, SM Abu Tayab, MA Salam and Nasir uddin Chowdhury were present.
